Do you ever

Do you ever feel you are being hounded and worn down by charities . I make my donations by direct debit and recently by cheque because I don,t want any more direct debits being taken . I know research and help is vital but the postal charges for letters pleading for more must be high .

I do agree. 3 years ago we chose the 'Smile' charity which provides cleft palate reconstruction for children in the developing world for our Christmas giving. I donated over the phone, and since then they've regularly contacted me, both on the phone and by post. I don't blame them but it has a different effect to the one they're after - it's alienating rather than anything else.

No I don't because we can always say no. I support a few and that's all. You can always ask to be taken off their mailing list as well. Hugs

It is annoying, we have 3 charities that we give to and I hate getting calls asking for more. If I had more I'd give more, and I don't like being made to feel bad about what I can't give.

It,s a sad situation , we know great steps are made through volutary donations.--cottonreel

I have the same problem here. I have a certain amount which I donate every month, sadly I cannot afford to give more. Oh if only I could win the lottery, then again I still wouldn't have enough as there are so many worthwhile causes out there. xx
