I don,t care what the weather men say

At present my litte bit of the world is clean and fresh.

Now to be realistic I,m sorry for people that have no heating (my outside pipe from the boiler froze 3 times last year at the coldest time possible but that has been rearranged) I feel for people going to work and waiting for buses ) I don,t have much patience for those who don,t keep well stocked cupboards . Basics like red beans, chick peas , tin tomatoes . rice and bulgar wheat are excellent standbys and for the freezer , mince and sausage . I,m lucky my milk is delivered to my door, but I have been told you can freeze milk , dosen,t the top pop off when it freezes?

I found I have no bread flour but I,ll get by with making pizza dough or flat bread

Reading a magazine my pharmacist gave to me on Saturday morning it said dairy food for winter . I don,t know about that , I think it can feel cloggy in the throat and chest but it said cheese is good , that suits me fine , cheese on toast , comfort food , goody !!

Spookily I have just eaten a cheese sandwich! My larder and freezer could feed us for 3 months! Keep warm. xxxx

You can freeze milk, but ours comes with screw on tops, which are quite safe. I usually freeze three or four bottles at a time, so as to be well stocked.

Hi Cottonreel.
I always freeze milk in the plastic cartons, but was also told to only freeze the semi skimmed stuff as the cream can go funny in the full fat stuff.
Sorry to hear about your mum.

I freeze semi skimmed milk in plastic screwtop bottles with no problem.

We don't buy a lot of milk. However many people here do freeze it. With two people with bronchial problems, they don't drink it when they are sick. I detest milk...I always said it's for calves. Hope you have a wonderful day. Hugs.

Like the others I feeze milk but only the semi skimmed stuff, I also keep at least one carton of the UHT (longlife) milk in my well stocked pantry, by the way it's great in rice puddings.
We also freeze lots of bread, actually when the meat and veg level drops in the freezer we fill the space with bread, cakes and biscuits as it's cheaper to run a full freezer than a half empty one.

You can freeze cheese as well but it gets crumbly when it's thawed. Our laundry room pipes froze already this year.
