Gilding the lampshade

This very plain lamp shade has been tarted up .
I had some vintage lace and pearl beads so I decidedto put thgem to good use , you can see the results below.
Another good renovation . A pearl here and a button there !!

Hi and thanks for stopping by That Old House and checking out my "bargains" on old lace and embroidery.

I love how you "tarted up" your lampshade. I am a lamp and lampshade junkie, so you have my attention immediately when you do something along those lines!

Lovely lace, too.

I grew up in a family where all the women did a lot of handwork, and luckily i do have some of the family treasures. But I also learned from my Mom to snatch up those forlorn and beautiful old pieces of handmade linens you find here in the USA at yard sales and thrift shops -- can't bear to let someone's careful handwork go un-appreciated!

Luckily for my wallet I can still find bargains.

Best wishes -- Cass

What happened to the cotton reels???

That Christmas quilt is going to be smashing - and I'm sure whoever possesses it will treasure it for Christmas decades to come.
