Yarn over hook

My friend bluebell wants to crochet edging round a pair of pillowcases , she is a novice at crochet but keen . The thing is she looks as if she is knitting , she holds the yarn in the same hand as the hook . I,ve sorted these sample bits out to see what she fancies doing . I didn,t use a pattern for these so no hard and fast rule ,when you get to the end of the round decide what the next round will be.
She will be taking this project on holiday next week . I will be all agog to see the pillowcases

Those items are very pretty but now, if it's not too much trouble, would you please mind making what must necessarily be a very short list of things you cannot do beautifully? For the sake of the self-esteem of your followers please?

Quite agree!
The lace things are just exquisite, and look so pretty with your initials. You are a very talented lady.

Those items are lovely, you do such nice work. My Mother in law use to do lovely crochet lace on her linens, I somehow can't get the hang of it.

Right No,1 A few weeks ago I made my 1st successful fruit cake , it was flat , smelt scrumptious , I wrapped it in greasproof , 2 weeks later when my sister came to visit I got the fruit cake out---mouldy

No 2 , I do not make a good quiche

No 3 , I never manage to cook beef rare

How far do you want me to grovel?

Furthermore bluebell came for her crochet tuition she got on fine doing it the right way but kept saying " I,m hot".--cottonreel

Phew, what a relief - I can make cake and quiche so I'm not a total loser
As for rare beef, best left to other people to cook and eat imo, I find the taste of running blood ruins the Yorkshire pudding :O)

Wow - the edging is simply divine!! Maybe you should do a tutorial for people like me who'd love to make edging like you do. :-)
