Opinions and comments please

I have returned from my holiday on the island of Lanzarote . I,ve had a lovely week with my son and daughter in law . lots of laughter ,good food and nice weather.

I now have to decide what to do about my laptop . I have had problems recently , it was taking a long time to get started . I can get into my emails o.k and other things , but ,it takes on average 5 minutes to get into a blog then another 6 or 7 mins,. to bring up any pictures , this is not acceptable .
One person says get a new laptop , another says have it cleaned . The man at P C World said it could be cleaned , no need to buy new . my laptop is 4 yrs old, I,ve been told this is about the lifetime of a laptop .

I,m missing reading all the amazing things bloggers write about , seeing the beautiful crafts and quilts and photographs . It took 20 mins,. to bring up the page to write this post . I,m not computer literate ,will I be able to load a new computer , my friend Silver Sewer used to put me right when I got stuck but she now has a new nesting place far , far away .

My garden has flourished while I have been away , it has lots of spring flowers out . I brought sunshine home with me , it,s lovely to sit outside and get drifts of perfume wafting around . A clematis that I thought hadn,t survived the winter is in leaf , at one time it was waterlogged , in fact more than once . In a weeks time the garden will be a carpet of blue with forget me nots .

Back to the laptop problem , when I finally get the dashboard up I read tantalising snippets but cannot spare the time waiting to get into the blog , for this reason I cannot leave comments but please leave yours for me to read . Hopefully sometime during the coming week I,ll be online again .

I would say if you have had this laptop for 4 years, it is time for a new one. There are plenty of nice laptops that are inexpensive.

So happy to hear you had a great time, it's nice to go away and always nice to get back home to your own bed and routine. Sorry to hear about your computer. I would take it in to the computer repair place and ask his opinion. They can hook up your computer and run a "diagnostic" to find the problem. Have a lovely weekend!! Blessings, Heather

You know I really don't think four years is a long enough life for a laptop. My last one I had for 8 years. It was regularly checked by 'the man' and updates always put on. the only reason I got a new one is because DH was going overseas and wanted to take it with him, plus it was our wedding anniversary and he had no other idea (apart from more fabric) what to by me. the old one is still going fine.
I'd say send it in for a good health check - maybe it just needs a memory feed. Good luck

I'm married to a geek, so all our computers (we have three in the house and the kid's lap tops when they come home) and all are from cash converters. Files and drives are regularly tidied, defragged and updated, old files in 'my computer' are deleted and every now and then the whole thing is wiped and started again to give it a fresh start. No need for a new one IF you can get it looked at........some local little shop usually can fix what ever is wrong for under £20

My laptop is 5 years old and doing fine. Have yours checked by a computer shop first before you buy a new one.

I really appreciate all the positive comments I,m getting .
My son said , 4 years, thats £2 a week , get a new one .
My daughter in law who is a book, keeper and uses hers constantly says get it cleaned .
It went to the comp ,. shop before I went away "the man said , we can clean it £40 .
It,s just the blogs I,m having difficuty with and I feel they are like a lifeline.

Thankyou one and all , it,s nice to be back , hopefully I will be dropping by soon-------------------cottonreel

Sorry to hear about your computer problems! My laptop is rather slow too and has some other issues as well. I know some of them happens because it's so full. I have deleted anything that can be deleted already, so a new one is waiting patiently on my desk.
Lanzarote sounds lovely; I have been there once and loved it!

I'm too married to a computer guru. He's always cleaning and doing updates on the computers. I would for sure get your laptop checked out before you spend your money on a new one.
