Dream On

I,m sitting in my conservatory wearing a towel having just emerged from the shower . The water fountain is tinkling . There is a huge tree in direct line of where I,m sitting about 30 yds away . It,s hot but windy . This tree , it,s leaves and branches blowing in the wind sound just like the sea .I can close my eyes and really believe I,m on a sea shore . Life is wonderful, I love wearing Woods Jasmine perfume, the smell of Jasmine is all it takes to complete the dream .

I have a waterfall in my pond, and we have a fairly large red maple tree in our back garden, and they sound like the sea also. Its a bit cooler here today, a relief from the hot and humid days we had last week. The muggy weather spawned some violent weather north of us, not too far from Toronto, where they had some tornados. One young boy was killed and a lot of houses damaged beyond repair. The strength of nature. It can be calming like our imaginary sea, or angrey and violent. Visiting my 92 year old mother this afternoon, hope you are having a nice Sunday, Patricia

Hi Sweetie! I keep meaning to tell you...I use a die cutter to cut those little flowers. It's a Sissix Bigkick...the best darn craft tool I ever bought! I'm having lots of fun with it! Hugs, Paulette :o) PS...I've done crazy quilting, but the kind of sane quilting that you do, I could never do. All those perfectly measured shapes...me,never! Somehow, I see those beautiful quilts and I think "math". I never was very good at that! Your work is just beautiful! xoxo

Hi Paulette, To me there is nothing special about me being a patchworker, I don,t intend to demean the craft of patchwork but going back in time it was neccessary for a woman to make quilts to keep her family warm,Now it is more an art form and a hobby
I have taught many people patchwork and how to quilt, it does give me a lot of pleasure seeing the joy when someone finishes a quilt.
I have sewn since I could thread a needle,-cottonreel

What a lovely word picture you've painted! I can almost hear the waves.

This is my first post here and I came by way of Silver Sewer's blog. I'm one of her friends in America who sent her some strips for her Friendship Braid quilt and it's been delighful to "know" her!

In one of your "you might be interested in ..." photos, I saw the pictures you have on your wall and cherish. I'd never seen the lovely girl in the window print and I love it! I've tried to get back to those pictures to see what the 2nd picture is and they've never appeared again when I was looking. Sigh!

Yes, I'm a quilter and am in Virginia, USA.

Hi, bhaener,I couldn,t get into your blog but if you read again keep a look out , I,ll post both of my bedroom pictures . I,ve had them many years and they travelled around with me, I never tire of looking at them. Perhaps I ,m hankering of a time in life gone by--cottonreel

Hi - Ta for thinking to post the pictures for me! I look forward to seeing them both and taking a better look at the 2nd one.

I don't have a blog, so that's the reason you couldn't get to it. Ususally when I post on someone's blog, my name is in a differnt color than is used for the names of those who do have blogs.

Cheers!
